Clara Rose Thornton is an internationally published film, wine and visual arts critic; music journalist; poetry workshop instructor; and book and magazine editor. Hailing from Chicago, she currently resides in an artists’ colony in southeastern Vermont. Her work has appeared in an international print quarterly, Stop Smiling: The Magazine for High-Minded Lowlifes; several local Chicago magazines and two national music journals. Locally, she acts as arts columnist for Vermont’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Rutland Herald daily and as a regional correspondent for Boston’s ArtScope bimonthly. During ten years of professional writing and editing, Clara Rose has won several creative nonfiction prizes, helmed two national arts and entertainment magazines, acted as editor of the general interest trade book department at Publications International, Ltd., judged two New Hampshire Poetry Out Loud competitions, and taught creative writing workshops nationwide.
