Buzz McLaughlin is a producing partner in the independent feature film company Either/Or Films that produced the highly acclaimed film The Sensation of Sight, starring Academy Award Best Actor nominee David Strathairn. He is also a playwright and screenwriter, his work having garnered numerous national awards including the National Play Award for his play Sister Calling My Name. He has also written for television and is the author of the best-selling book The Playwright’s Process, a how-to manual on writing a successful script.
He is the founder and former Artistic Director of Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey, a professional Actors’ Equity theatre company dedicated to the development of new works and that has three times been cited a Major Arts Organization by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the Council’s highest honor. He holds a BA degree in economics and an MA and PhD in theatre and dramatic literature and was for many years Professor of Playwriting and Playwright-In-Residence at Drew University.
Buzz currently runs a professional script consulting service, and along with writer/director Aaron J. Wiederspahn oversees Either/Or Films operations - including the development, production, and distribution of all projects.
